WHO IS A LIAR?

1.  LIARS SPEAK THEIR OWN WORDS.

John 8:44 tells us, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him.  When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.  

Years ago a friend of mine came to my house and began to tell me why I was going through what I was going through at the time.  Before she could finish her words the Holy Spirit began to tell me that it was a lie.  Why?  Because she was speaking her own mind and not the mind of God.  She was speaking what she believed or thought was the truth and not the Father’s words.  Therefore she was telling lies.  

Many people do this, we say things about others that God did not tell us and if God did not tell us something and we are assuming something about someone or guessing, then we are not speaking the truth and we are liars.  Stop saying things about people that God did not tell you.  Whenever I bring any message it is because God told me to bring the message.  I do not pull my messages out of a magic hat.  

Jesus spoke the words of the Father not his own words.  John 14:10 tells us, “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”

The truth is the words of the Father and when you are not speaking the Father’s words, you are not speaking the truth.  

2.  A LIAR IS ONE WHO SAYS THAT HE HAS FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD BUT WALKS IN DARKNESS.

I John 1:6-7 tells us, 

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

I have come across people who continuously walk in darkness and claim that they have fellowship with God.  The Bible calls these people liars.  You cannot claim that you have fellowship with God and be continuously walking in darkness or living a life that is contrary to who you are.  When you have fellowship with God you are supposed to walk in the light as He is in the light.

1 John 2:4 tells us, 

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Not keeping God’s commandments makes you a liar and all liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire--those who claim they gave their lives to Jesus as well as those who have not given their lives to Jesus.  

Revelation 21:8 tells us, 

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

3. A MAN WHO SAYS HE LOVES GOD AND HATES HIS BROTHER IS A LIAR.  

1 John 4:20-21 tells us,  20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?  21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

In summary, liars speak their own words.  Liars say that they have fellowship with God but walk in darkness, and liars say that they love 

God but hate their brothers and sisters and as a result will not inherit eternal life or get to heaven.   I pray that this will not be your portion in Jesus Mighty Name.  

If you have never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and you would like to be saved and get to heaven and you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and that He is the Son of God.  Then repent and ask God to forgive you.  Confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.  Be baptized in His name.  Receive the Holy Spirit and follow and obey Him.
